Hosted Events Manager


Position Summary: Responsible for the sales, service, planning, organization, communication and overall execution of scheduled functions held within the Murphy Arts District.  


Job Duties:

    •    Accepts all requests for proposals and pursues all leads for proposed events including     responding to inquiries and executing group/event proposals and contracts within a 24 hour period.
    •    Convert prospective clientele into committed customers through on-site visits/meetings, property tours, and proactive communication.
    •    Develop and distribute all communications relating to planning and execution of group functions, including, but not limited to, group resumes, banquet event orders (BEO's) and room sets according to established guidelines.
    •    Prepare, present and collect payment for event pre-estimates by required due dates.
    •    Maintain positive and productive relationships with internal departments and operations.
    •    Possess current, up-to-date knowledge pertaining to all Murphy Arts District pricing, and strategies relevant to the group market segment.
    •    Maintain a high level of customer service with guests and employees.
    •    Prepares weekly and monthly sales report promptly and accurately.
    •    Responsible for coordinating the delivery of all food and beverage for functions held in the Murphy Arts District and keeping with the standards prescribed by management.
    •    Achievement of budgeted food sales, beverage sales and labor costs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    
    •    Outgoing, personable, friendly.
    •    Excellent communication skills.
    •    Superior organizational skills (written and verbal).
    •    Strong computer skills and follow-up skills.
    •    Property Management System, Caterease and Aloha experience a plus.
    •    Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings/weekends/holidays as required.
    •    Ability to travel.
    •    Team player.
    •    Extremely strong attention to detail.
    •    Adaptability, capable of multi-tasking.


Requirements:
    
    •    Hospitality sales experience (preferably in a full service environment) or Hospitality graduate.
    •    2 years or more working in event/meeting/wedding planning a plus.
    •    2 years or more management experience in the hospitality environment a plus.
    •    Familiarization with group and event sales required.

Salary:

Commensurate with experience.
